Research Grant Guidelines
- Applications are invited from Life Members of the Galle Medical Association (GMA). Prospective applicants who are non-members shall obtain the GMA Life membership before submission of applications.
- Please submit the full research proposal with duly filled application (gma.lk) on or before 16th December 2022.
- Preference will be given for proposals that could be completed within the maximum amount of money provided by the research grant.
- All proposals shall show evidence of ethical clearance.
- The Principal investigator (PI) shall come to an agreement with the GMA on the following:
- The PI will complete the project and submit the final report within two years of signing the agreement. In the event of failing to do so, PI agrees to repay the total amount of the research grant to GMA within two months of passing the deadline.
- The findings of the research shall be submitted for GMA annual sessions.
- The PI shall submit a progress report and financial statement every 6 months to the GMA. Utilization of grant funds should commence within the first 6 months.
- GMA Committee on Research Promotion will appoint a panel to review and select suitable proposals for funding. Review Panel’s decision will be final.
- The research will be monitored by the committee mentioned above.
- Papers and publications from the research shall acknowledge the support of the GMA.
- Special notes:
Each applicant shall nominate a supervisor (if applicable) acceptable to GMA for the project e.g. – Senior Lecturer and above in a University, Specialist Medical Officer in the relevant field of study in hospital/ institution.
